Elle a étudié les arts culinaires à l'Asheville-Buncombe Technical College, mais a finalement retrouvé le chemin de sa ville natale et de la scène culinaire de Hickory. Jessica a été présentée dans des publications locales ainsi que dans le magazine Our State pour son travail en charcuterie. Elle vit à Hickory avec son mari et ses trois enfants.
