Valentine’s Day has always felt like an invitation to lean into femininity and romance; and when it comes to weddings, color has the biggest visual impact. For this inspiration, I kept coming back to a rosy, red palette that is soft and romantic, but with enough warmth and depth to avoid feeling overly sweet.
The foundation is that rosey and jewel toned red with dusty pink which feel grown-up, modern and transitional. I love how these hues and shades instantly set a romantic mood while still feeling timeless. The softer, tinted hues add airiness and movement, while the reds bring passion and energy.
For contrast, I introduced aubergine, but in small, accentuated amounts. This deep, moody tone grounds the palette and adds sophistication. A touch of aubergine in florals, stationery details, or linens creates depth and keeps the look from feeling one-note. The shade subtle and powerful.
Gold is the element that ties everything together. Used as an accent, it balances the softness of the pinks and the richness of the darker tones. Gold adds warmth, sophistication, and glow when used in tabletop decor.
This palette is romantic without being too predictable. It’s ideal for couples who love classic romance while wanting an analogous color scheme that is layered. A Valentine’s Day wedding, after all, should feel like love you can see, and this color story does that.
