This February 17th marks the Lunar New Year and is celebrated in many Asian cultures. It’s a magical moment when old cycles end, new ones begin, and everyone seems to pause for reflection and renewal. This year, 2026, marks the Year of the Horse, a symbol full of life, movement, and freedom.
The Horse holds a special place in the Chinese Zodiac. It’s known for its energy, charisma, and go-getting spirit. People born in the Year of the Horse are usually independent, passionate, and adventurous. They really have a certain spark as they move forward, chase dreams, and rarely pause for very long. Because of this the horse has always represented speed, strength, and success.
The last Year of the Horse was in 2014, and if you think back, it was indeed a year filled with innovation, bold ideas, and people taking brave leaps into new territory. The Horse’s energy encourages that kind of momentum, and I’m personally excited to channel some of it this year. It seems a perfect time to start that project I’ve been putting off, to travel somewhere new, or simply to reset my perspective on what “moving forward” really means.
As I step into the new Lunar Year, I love seeing the traditions come alive with fanciful decorations, good foods, firecrackers, and the shared wish for good fortune. Saddle-up.
