Gothic Fall Charcuterie Board

Gothic Fall Charcuterie Board

Bring the rich, moody beauty of autumn to your table with a charcuterie board filled with deep jewel tones, creamy cheeses, savory cured meats, and seasonal fruit. Fresh figs, dark grapes, blackberries, toasted nuts, and bittersweet chocolate create a beautiful contrast against pale cheeses and crisp crackers. Start with a beautiful board from the DASH Home + Kitchen charcuterie collection, then fill it with your favorite fall flavors for an elegant spread that's perfect for entertaining or enjoying a leisurely afternoon with friends.

Ingredients:

Aged white cheddar or sharp white cheddar

Brie or Camembert

Blue cheese or another deeply flavored soft cheese

Prosciutto

Salami or soppressata

Fresh blackberries

Black or purple grapes

Fresh figs, quartered

Dried apricots or dates

Fig or blackberry preserves (try L'Epicurien Black Fig Preserves or McEvoy Ranch Savory Fig Jam)

Marcona almonds or roasted pecans

Dark chocolate or Espresso Beans

Crostini, seeded crackers, or artisan bread

Fresh rosemary sprigs

Optional: black olives and a few small chocolate-covered nuts

Directions:

  1. Choose a large wood, slate, or dark serving board as your base. Arrange the cheeses first, spacing them throughout the board so each one has its own area.

  2. Fold or loosely gather the prosciutto and arrange it near one of the cheeses. Add slices or small stacks of salami or soppressata to create additional shape and texture.

  3. Fill in the larger spaces with clusters of grapes, blackberries, and fresh figs. Tuck dried fruit, nuts, and dark chocolate into the smaller spaces.

  4. Place a small bowl of fig or blackberry preserves on the board, then add crackers and crostini around the edges or in small clusters.

  5. Finish with fresh rosemary sprigs tucked throughout the board. For a subtle touch, add a few black olives or dark chocolate pieces.

Serve at room temperature and replenish the smaller items as needed.
